Project III Development

Three sphere (later will combine with each other)

Several organic form and shape i want to make it like sphere shape. But i still meet some problem with it. such as how many shape create a half sphere and try to link with each other. The angle and its need to bend, when you bend it in 3ds max. i found the polygon extrude out of the model, that is quite annoying.

Project III : Sketches and Ideas

Below is several sketches i have created after i found out some precedent images. what i want to create, by the precedent images inspire me that i could make a model (sphere or box shape or irregular figure) with the organic texture or organic shape on it. It will make the model become more complex, this is the idea i have found out from the shapeways.com

i remembered other courses also want to us focus on the "algorithmic" so in my precedent images i also check out several images link to this idea.

Next class (tomorrow), i hope i could have more ideas about what i will have to do in the 3d application

"Biology has played a role in architecture ever since we decided to build primitive shelters. More recently though the word “Bio” has been lost through an obsession with suggestive organic shapes. When we talk about biomimicry  in architecture- phrases such as biomorphic and organic spring to mind. Whilst there can be a connection between these, they are inherently different. The important distinction to be made between ‘biomimicry’ and ‘biomorphism’ is the former uses nature as a source for original/unconventional forms; the latter engages with the way nature functions." via Ghaui

Get several ideas from the design precedent around our life. Wind Mobile design can be find a lot in Wellington. From the airport to city. For our project, we also can get some ideas from them, when i saw the video on the lecture, we could even make a interactive project by using 3D printer. That is really exciting. But for 30mm x 30mm x 30mm it could be difficult.

Week 8

Sketch model#5 New development model.

So here is the new development model.Sketch model #4

I will base on that style to create my final laser cutting model

Because my model is need to use symmetry shape for some parts, so i found that AI quick tutorial is really helpful.
