Nearly finish the model, but when i check the puzzle sphere by using STL check there are lots of errors nearly 200. After i import my model into solidworks, it looks like that.
All the puzzle break into parts :( |
After two overnight, i give up my three sphere idea, i though it could not print in 3d printing. I did not get email from our tutor, because of the weekend i think. Maybe i should ask them tomorrow about the "open edge" problem, i asked several people who have same error with me, they even still could not figure out that tricky part. So i change my mind in to this one, simple and beauty pattern 'mobius'
As you can see. No errors. how great it was! |
i have check the 3ds max for my original model but it did not show any error on the software. That is the reason why i upload my file into R drive last Thursday. And i ask my tutor for help, she also believe if 3ds max did not give you any error you will be okay. But when i use a software called netfabb studio, it just like a nightmare, each time i put my stl into that software, some time they will give you exclamation mark to you. like the picture below.
What happened ...??? |
After that, i follow the pdf schedule and check the 10b and any other kinds of website about the netfabb, open edges all something else.
*By the way, i found i could not use the model i upload on Thursday because of the model thickness is so slim enough that it could not print (tutor suggest probably bigger than 0.5mm) So i redo the whole model, but still have the problem like open edges. I found they all have the same modifier at first - bend. i copy four pattern put them together Bend modifier made the 3d model vertices or edges bend too much become strange just like the red polygon (shown above).

Okay, so here is 2012/10/08 update, Finally i finish the error with the 3D printing. i asked Arthur to checked my file. And he said last time it even could not be fix. But this time it is work. So i print two of them to make it safety.
